PROMOTING THE
CULTURE OF READING

LIBRARY SERVICES

The Rwanda Archive and Library Services Authority is responsible for the management of the country’s public libraries. It distributes resources to libraries across Rwanda and inspires communities to get involved in reading activities to enrich their knowledge. As part of its work, RALSA organises events including annual book and reading festivals. These initiatives promote a reading culture and improve literacy amongst Rwandans.

A CULTURE OF READING AND WRITING

The Rwanda Archive and Library Services Authority supports several programs to contribute to the culture of reading and writing. Additional initiatives include library and archival information management, inspecting archives at public institutions and organising competitions and festivals of reading and writing.
